For several of its four centuries The Malt House was Broad Campden's malt house. Barley from the local farms was soaked in clean stream water and spread out along the floors and warmed by the adjacent living quarters and carefully laid fires, the grain germinated and then dried to become the malt used to make the Village's ale and beer. For the last century the buildings have been combined as a single house.
The Malt House now provides luxury accommodation combined with fabulous gourmet dinners
to give its guests the perfect experience of staying in the Cotswolds.
Over the years the the Malt House suites and rooms have evolved, an antique table here,
a restored cedar wardrobe there, maybe a four poster in that room, fine Royal Worcester China here.
Everywhere, fresh flowers from the garden, soft towels and fragrant oils in the en suite
bathrooms. All rooms have wonderful views of the beautiful garden, the Superior rooms have
king-sized beds, and the Garden Suite additionally has its own private sitting room and
extra bedroom.
This is a delightful property and quintessentially 17th century Cotswolds
where in its relaxed and cosy charm time can stand still for you.
